Ultimate Runner Races
Race Information
Runners of all ages and abilities are invited to escape the ho-hum of ordinary road races.
Five events in one night, four on the track and a 5K cross country. You must complete all five events to get a finishing score and receive the coveted Ultimate Runner t-shirt and a 4.91 Ultimate Runner car decal. The order of events is 1 mile, 400m, 800m, 100m, 5K XC. Track events are run in heats based upon submitted seed times.
Registration Info
The field size will be capped at 114 participants based upon the number of heats we can accommodate. All runners are seeded in heats by their best mile time in the last year. IMPORTANT: If you have questions about your registration, need to drop out, or wish to change your seed time send an email to the race director at ultimate@twincitytc.org.
NOTE: Twin City Track Club members receive $5 off registration. You must have claimed your membership at www.RunSignUp.com to receive the discount.
Celebration Lap
2026 marks the 40th running of Ultimate Runner! To celebrate this occasion, the competitive races will be preceded with a one lap run around the track. Anyone who has been a part of Ultimate Runner over the past 40 years is invited to participate in the Celebration Lap.
Summer Track Series
Free workouts, specifically geared towards Ultimate Runner preparation!
The Summer Track Series meets at the Bob Sosnik Track @ Hanes Park in Winston-Salem on 4 consecutive Wednesdays beginning May 27, 2026. All of the meets start at 6:00 PM.
There is no entry fee. You may run as many events as you like. This is a great tune-up for the TCTC Ultimate Runner event.

*Note: We’ll move things along as quickly as possible. If we get ahead of schedule, then heats will begin earlier than the estimated times shown above. Keep alert. Any runner who fails to check-in to their assigned heat on time will be disqualified.
We will not delay the start, and you must check in by 4:00 in order to participate. There are lots of places to park around Hanes Park. Please allow plenty of time for any driving and parking issues.
Post Race Party and Awards
Spend the evening at the post-race party and awards ceremony at Joymongers Barrel Hall across the street from Hanes Park. All entrants and volunteers are invited. Guests are also welcome for a nominal fee. Click here for more info!
