NC Swim Camp

Intro:  Coach Trent Hayden (President Cape Fear Triathlon Club, USAT Triathlon Level 1, Youth and Junior Coach) for an open water swim clinic at world famous vacationland Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington, North Carolina!

Camp Overview:  Typical Swim camps can usually be separated into two types:  Open water or Pool.  The North Carolina Open Water Swim Technique Camps will be held in both the open water at Wrightsville Beach and Nsea pool is downtown Wilmington.  Athletes will learn how to take the swim technique from the pool and apply it directly to the race environment in the open water.  In addition, Wrightsville Beach is one of the most unique open water swim environments in the entire United States.  Athletes will experience swimming in the open ocean, tidal rivers (location of Ironman North Carolina 70.3), and back bays all directly adjacent to the beach!  Back at the UNCW pool, athletes will each be recorded with specific technique instruction catering to the athlete's needs.

 

  • 8 hours of personalized instruction over the course of the camp weekend
  • Open water swimming in some of the best and most varied waters in the US!
    Swim in the same course as Ironman 70.3 North Carolina
  • Navigate waves, rough water, calm water, river currents, and how to swim for efficiency and speed in each environment
  • Appropriate for all levels of swimming ability, from beginner to expert
  • Individual recorded technique videos for each swimmer
  • Take home specific workouts and drills to apply to your training to get fully prepared for the season!   
  • Dates for the Spring Camp:  June 7 through June 8.  6:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Saturday at Wrightsville Beach, 6 AM to 12 PM in open water on Sunday.  On Sunday after swim there will be an included movement screen performed by Paradigm Performance Therapy.  Vital to further increase your range of motion to better develop your stroke!
