Sheeley Family Story & Mission

  Why We Choose to Run/Walk
The Sheeley Family’s journey with epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE) began with a diagnosis no parent ever expects to hear. EHE is an ultra‑rare vascular cancer—so rare that most patients enter this world with no roadmap, no standard treatment, and very few experts who truly understand the disease. For our 21 year old son, Drew, this diagnosis changed everything. It reshaped our daily lives, our hopes, and our understanding of what it means to fight for a future that isn’t guaranteed.

Yet in the middle of that uncertainty, we found a lifeline: The EHE Foundation.

Why the EHE Foundation Matters
The EHE Foundation is the driving force behind global research, patient support, and scientific collaboration for this rare cancer. Because EHE is so uncommon, research does not happen without philanthropy. There are no large pharmaceutical companies funding studies. There are no well established treatment pathways. Progress depends entirely on community support.

Every dollar raised helps:

  • Fund cutting‑edge research to understand how EHE grows and how to stop it
  • Support clinical trials that may offer the first real well-established treatment options
  • Connect patients and families to specialists and critical resources
  • Build hope in a space where hope is often hard to find
For our son—and for every person living with EHE—this research is not abstract. It is personal. It is urgent. It is the difference between uncertainty and possibility.

 Why We Walk Together
The DO IT FOR DREW EHE Fun Run/Walk is more than an event. It is a statement of love, community, and determination. It is our way of standing beside our son and every family facing this rare cancer. It is our way of fueling the research that could change Drew's future.

When you participate, donate, or simply show up, you become part of that hope. You help push forward the science that families like ours desperately need. You remind us that we are not alone in this fight.

Our Mission
We are committed to raising funds and awareness so that the EHE Foundation can continue driving the research that will one day lead to effective treatments—and, we hope, a cure. For our son. For every patient. For every family navigating this rare and unpredictable disease.

Together, we can turn hope into action. Together, we can change the future of EHE! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support!
