Description
On average, 98 children are reported as abused or neglected in Ward County every month. The Northern Plains Children's Advocacy Center is challenging our community to run 98 miles to help break the silence about child abuse. Will you join the NPCAC mission to advocate for the innocent children victimized by physical and sexual abuse? It’s time to actively work to prevent child abuse in Ward County-- 98 is too many.
98 Too Many is a virtual challenge that allows you to track your miles and work toward your 98 mile goal. If 98 miles seems too unrealistic, you can talk your running/walking friends into joining a team in which you can work together to complete those miles.
Although these miles will be logged on your own, we will be having an event at the end of February in which we will run one mile together and celebrate our accomplishments! Each registrant will get a 98 Too Many shirt on registration and a medal on completion of the 98 miles.
This race also has the ability to fundraise for our cause. Prizes will be awarded to participants who also fundraise $98.
The Northern Plains CAC provides a compassionate and effective way to bring services to children victimized by abuse. This public-private collaboration significantly reduces the trauma associated with reporting child abuse and holds offenders accountable.
We serve multiple counties in the northwest and northcentral regions of North Dakota, including two Native American reservations.
A law enforcement official or county social services worker must make a referral to us. If you or someone you know is a victim of child abuse, contact your local law enforcement or county social service agency.
