Description
In an attempt to make sure that we can provide all participants with a completely safe (and warm) experience we have made the decision to change this to a virtual event. You can now complete your 5K anyway you want! On a treadmill, outside (if you are brave), on a bike, in a pool, etc.
There will no longer be a prize for the fastest finisher but instead, if you complete the 5K you will be put in a drawing to win one of EIGHT $25.00 Scheels gift cards! You will get your name in the drawing by either uploading your time to RunSignUp when completed or by posting a picture of yourself completing your event on the event's Facebook page. You can complete it anytime over the next week and we will draw the winners a week from now on 11/5.
We still have some goodies for all of you that signed up for the event so please stop by Jack Hoeven Park, 2630 7th Ave SW, on Sunday 10/29 from 2:30-3:00pm to get your packet.
Ryer
Ryer Fornshell was born at 27 weeks, weighing 2 lbs 10 oz. At 2 weeks old he suffered an extensive bilateral brain bleed which has left him with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy among many other diagnoses. Ryer is the sweetest boy, with a smile that lights up any room. He is nonverbal but he definitely has preferences – he knows exactly what he wants and doesn’t want and he lets us know!
We are taking Ryer to Monterrey in February for a very promising new medical treatment. It is currently the ONLY treatment that has the ability to regenerate brain tissue. We know of several children that have had amazing results and we are so hopeful this will give Ryer his breakthrough we have prayed and worked so hard for. The downside is that we will have to be in Mexico for 30 days for him to receive his daily treatments and the cost is steep. We have always vowed we would leave no stone unturned to give Ryer the best life possible and we will continue to do so! Thank you for your support - Jessamy Fornshell
