Description

Join us for the second annual PINK OCTOBER 1 Mile & 5K bRUNch! This event will help raise awareness for breast cancer, celebrate breast cancer survivors, and honor loved ones who have lost their battle with the disease.

Run, walk, skip, or dance your way through the finish line… we don’t mind how you do it, we just want you to join us in raising awareness and enjoy a delightful brunch afterwards!

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Perkins County Health Services Surgery Department to help purchase an Endoscopy System (Olympus), and also contribute to our Mammogram & Breast Health fund.

What is an Endoscopy System?

An endoscopy system is a set of medical devices used to examine the interior of the gastrointestinal tract. It includes a flexible tube with a light and camera that helps doctors identify and treat conditions such as digestive disorders, cancers, and more. PCHS performs around 500 - 550 endoscopy procedures annually.

Why is it important?

An endoscopy system at a community hospital is crucial because it enables local healthcare providers to perform diagnostic procedures without patients needing to travel to larger hospitals. This results in quicker diagnoses, earlier treatment, and improved outcomes for patients in the community, thereby enhancing overall healthcare accessibility and quality locally. PCHS's current endoscopy equipment is over 5+ years old, so it is clearly time for an update.

The Mammogram & Breast Health Fund

This fund at Perkins County Health Services assists patients with the cost of diagnostic mammograms or breast ultrasounds. Assistance is available for patients who do not have medical insurance coverage or have a high deductible.

Your compassionate support for breast cancer awareness and lifesaving medical technology will make a profound impact on the lives of those affected by this disease. Let's come together for an unforgettable event and create a lasting impact!
