Heart & Soles 5K

Join the Keene Family YMCA for a brand-new winter tradition!

The Heart & Soles 5K is an all-ages, family-friendly run taking place on Saturday, February 14, 2026. Celebrate Valentine’s Day on the move as you run, walk, or jog through a snowy 5K course through the neighborhoods of West Keene, starting and finishing at the Y. Whether you’re a seasoned racer or simply looking for a fun way to stay active this winter, this event is built for all paces and experience levels.

Bring your partner, your family, or your friends—everyone is welcome!

Schedule

• Check-in & bib pick-up: 9:15 am (inside the Y lobby)
• Race start: 10:00 am

Dress for Winter Conditions
Be sure to layer up and wear traction if you have it. Roads and sidewalks may be snow- or ice-covered, so please plan accordingly and run safely.

The Course
The race starts in the Y parking lot. From there:

• Right leaving the Y
• Right onto Hastings Ave
• Left onto Hurricane Road
• Left onto Arch Street
• Left onto Park Ave back to the Y

The course is flat, and volunteers will be at each intersection to direct you.

IMPORTANT: The roads are not closed. There will be traffic. For safety’s sake, please run either on the sidewalks, or on the left side of the road (against the flow of traffic) and hug the shoulder as much as possible.

When you get back to the Y, please run the sidewalk to the finish line as opposed to running in the driveway if you can.  

Post-Race Refreshments
Warm up inside the Y after you finish with water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and snacks. Bathrooms are available inside, and our Welcome Center staff will be happy to help.

Remember, this is a FUN RUN, with prizes for the top male and female finishers.
