A beloved colleague, physician, mentor and educator, Bonita F. Stanton, M.D., was the founding dean of Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and a true inspiration to all who knew her. She was a prolific researcher, author and educator committed to health care equality. It is impossible to overstate her role in bettering and saving untold lives over the course of her career as a pediatrician and medical education visionary.  A true leader of positive change, Dean Stanton envisioned a world in which every person - in her own words - could have “equal access to excellent health outcomes and wellbeing” regardless of background, ethnicity and income level in the State of New Jersey and beyond.
