Jogging for John 5K and Kids’ 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk

On Saturday, May 20th, the Dooros Family and the Daughters of Penelope Aphrodite Chapter #374 from Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Toms River, NJ are holding the 5th "Jogging for John" 5K Walk/Run and Kids’ 1-Mile Fun Walk/Run in loving memory of John J. Dooros. The event will take place at Brick Township Memorial High School. John was a beloved family man, friend, Vietnam veteran, Brick Township educator for over 37 years, and a lifetime resident at the Jersey Shore. In 2011, he lost his long and courageous battle with lung cancer.  On this special Armed Forces Day, we will honor John’s service along with all of our Veterans-Past-Present-Future. All proceeds will be going to benefit the AHEPA Dogs for Warriors which aims to provide service dogs for wounded warriors with PTSD. Service dogs are beneficial in providing companionship and assist with stress management. If you cannot make the race or are not able to participate in the walk/ run, donations are greatly appreciated and tax deductible. We look forward to seeing you at the race on May 20th! 👍🇺🇸

Pre-registration for 5K: $35+ online processing fee 

Day of the Race- $40 CASH ONLY 

Pre-registration for the Kids' 1-Mile Fun-Run (Up to Age 10): $15+ online processing fee

Day of the Race Kids' 1-Mile Fun Run- $20 CASH ONLY

Time: May 20th (RAIN OR SHINE)

Registration will begin at 8:00 AM, 5K starts at 9:30 AM and 1-mile Fun Walk/Run starts at 9:00AM.

Refreshments and Prizes will be offered!!
