General Race Information

Our 11th Annual “Taking Strides Towards Wellness" 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, October 14th at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater. This is also a family fun day with snacks and a playground nearby.  

This race is on an extremely flat paved wooded trail that parallels the Raritan River. 

Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers overall for each gender as well as the top 3 per age group. Age groups will be 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 and over.

Registration Information

New Registration and Packet Pick up will start at 8 AM, with the 5K Run/Walk starting at 9 AM and the Award Ceremony at 10:30 AM.  Free 100% Poly WICKING Performance T-Shirt to ALL pre-registrants.  Registration fees prior to 10/13/22 are $25 + sign-up fee for the 5K Run/Walk ($22 for USATF-NJ Members) Fees go up by $5 on 10/14/23.

Race Sign-up Incentives:
If a paid participant donates or gets donations equal to or greater than $125, he/she will be refunded his/her $25 registration fee.

If a paid participant gets 4 other people to register and pay for this event, he/she will be refunded his/her $25 registration fee.

Possible Sponsorship Opportunities Include:

Banner Placement at Start/Finish Line - $500
Mile Marker Sign Along the Course- $200
Tribute sign - $25 - Small signs will be placed on tribute row.  Your sign will post the name you are honoring or memorializing.

Race Proceeds:

All proceeds from the race and sponsorships benefit Family & Community Services of Somerset County(FCSSC). 

The goal of FCSSC is to enhance the quality of life of individuals, families, and communities by providing mental health and addiction treatment and services. We counsel, guide, and provide tools to people in our community who need to strengthen their foundation of wellness. We also coordinate with local agencies to ensure that our clients have continued support and success in all aspects of their lives.

Your tax-deductible donation WILL make a difference and WILL change a life in our community. 

As a non-profit, community agency, we offer affordable rates based on a sliding scale. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, and other insurances. We take pride in serving EVERYONE in our community without regard to ability to pay. In turn, we rely on the community and private donations to allow us to continue to provide these high quality and vital services.
