The 2024 Captain Zinn Memorial 5K Run and Racewalk will occur Sunday, April 14th at Dorbrook Park in Colts Neck, N.J. Dorbrook Park is located at 353 County Road 537 Colts Neck, N.J. Bib and T-shirt pick up will be right by the playground. 

Advance registration is 50% off for all veterans and military personnel.

This event honors all Vietnam Veterans and is named in memory of Captain Ronald Lloyd "Ron" Zinn, a race walker from the United States who was killed in Vietnam in 1965. He graduated from the US Military Academy in 1962 and represented the USA at both the 1960 (Rome) and 1964 (Tokyo) Summer Olympics. He placed 6th in the 20K race walk in 1964. Shore AC has held this race to remember Captain Zinn since 1966. The day features a 5K Run and Relay starting at 10:00 am and 5K Racewalk at 10:05 am, along with a kids fun run at 9:30AM. NEW ADDITION

2 leg relay (1 mile, 2 miles) for the 5K Run! Only the second leg needs to register, first leg will need to sign a waiver on race day. 

The Course

The 5K course includes ones smaller and one larger loop on the paced path at scenic Dorbrook Park. The races are entirely within the confines of this beautiful Monmouth County Park, and is completely closed to vehicular traffic.
