Flat Rock Brook's Annual 5K Run/1-mile Family Walk

Flat Rock Brook will hold its 9th Annual 5K trail run on Sunday, August 9th.  The "Run in the Wild" starts at our Nature Center.  After a short street run, the course enters the shaded trails of our 150-acre preserve.  It's a unique opportunity to run through a suburban forest.  This "rain or shine" event begins at 8:30 a.m. sharp.  Participants should arrive between 7:30- 8:00 a.m. to pick up bibs and numbers.

We are also having a 1 mile Family Walk on a trail that passes a cascading brook, wetland and scenic overlook.  We will provide snacks, water and a souvenir animal plush for our young participants.  Immediately fllowing our walk is a live animal program led by one of our staff Naturalists at our Raptor Aviary.  Kids will have the chance $25 includes 2 adults and 2 children (under age 5 free); $10 additional/single adult; $5 additional/single child

Benefitting:

Proceeds benefit Flat Rock Brook Nature Center, a non-profit preserve and environmental education center. Registration fees are considered donations and are not refundable.

Exclusions:

Please note, the Trail Run has Rough Terrain in some spots. Due to insurance and safety requirements, dogs, bicycles, skateboards, baby strollers, baby joggers, roller skates and roller blades are prohibited on trails. Our course is primarily shaded. Sunglasses are not recommended on our trail run as they will reduce visibility of the terrain.

Race Information:

All Pre-registrants have to be there by 8:00am to pick up bibs and T-Shirts. Runners signing up the day of the race must register between 7-8 a.m.;

Race Day Registration add $3 per person.

Walk Information:

1-mile Family Walk follows our run.  Plan to arrive at our Nature Center parking lot at or after 10:00 a.m.  The parking area will be closed for the event. Park at the bottom of our hill and walk up to our nature center.
