Joe Birchwale Memorial 5K

The Joe Birchwale Foundation is in memory of Joe Birchwale, a courageous 14 year old who lost his battle to cancer in April 2012. Joe was first diagnosed with a tumor after going to the doctor with pain in his lower leg when he was 7 years old. Doctors had to amputate his  leg below the knee and fit him with a prosthetic, Joe was an athlete and fought through the cancer and won. He continued to play sports and was cancer free until last year, when several more tumors were discovered, he continued to fight until the very end. He was a brave, inspirational and courageous young man who should serve as an example for all of us.
