What better time than the present to get moving and on the road to a better you! This 9 week training program is designed for individuals who have been away from running for a long time or have never run before and seek a fun but structured introduction to running. The workouts will start with a light combination of walking and running and will gradually incorporate more running to give the body ample time to adjust. We will create a supportive, non-intimidating and fun environment that will help you run your first 5k comfortably and confidently.
We will also provide you with suggested in-between class workouts via weekly emails, so in essence we are there for you with support and structure every day of the 9-weeks. This is ideal for folks that need to miss class due to existing commitments, allowing you to follow along and keep up with the class.
In addition to the training we will hold optional clinics on several topics including proper footwear, nutrition and injury prevention. Also, all participants will receive a free technical training t-shirt upon completion of the program.
We are training for the Run with Pride 5K at Giralda Farms (Tentatively May 25) or a race around that time of your choice.
