Description
On Sunday, October 6th, 2024 lace up your running shoes for an unforgettable experience among the majestic cliffs of the New Jersey Palisades. This half marathon offers runners stunning views throughout its 13.1 mile paved course with an elevation change of more than 1600 feet. The event is USATF sanctioned on a USATF certified course and will be a 500 point race in the USATF-NJ Grand Prix.
Whether you are training for the fall marathon season, a nature lover, or looking for an endurance challenge, this race promises to invigorate and inspire.
Proceeds will benefit the Palisades Parks Conservancy which supports and preserves 100,000+ acres of public parkland and historic sites stretching from the GW Bridge to the Shawangunk Ridge and Catskill Mountains.
COURSE NOTE - ROUGH ROAD SECTION
A severe rainstorm in the Palisades Interstate Park on August 6 caused road damage along the Palisades Half Marathon route, creating uneven and patchy pavement with exposed bricks, bumps, and depressions. The road conditions last for half a mile between miles 2 - 3 and miles 11 - 12. This area will be marked by cones and road paint, and volunteers and signage will be on the course to warn runners as they approach and traverse the rough road section.
