Description
This clinic is set up to build confidence utilizing a Krav Maga style of self defense movement. Students will be put in “mock exercises” designed to mimic real life bullying or aggressive situational experience. The clinic starts off with beginner level understanding of self defense and transitions into a move advanced movement including offensive strikes, counter attacks, with a hint of weapons defense. Loose fitted gym style clothing and sneakers is preferred attire to participate in this activity.
What to expect each week:
5 Week Self-Defense Program
Program runs EVERY Thursday for 5weeks.
PROGRAM TIMES:
-Teen Self Defense (ages 12-17) 5-5:50pm
-Co-Ed Self Defense (ages 18+) 6-6:50pm
-WOMANS ONLY (ages 14+) 7-7:50pm
PRGRAM DATES:
-Thursday August 4th (week 1),
-Thursday August 11th (week 2),
-Thursday August 18th (week 3),
-Thursday August 25th (week 4),
-Thursday September 1st (week 5).
PROGRAM OUTLINE:
Week 1. Bracing, Rolling, Falling & Defensive Stance, a.k.a “Going with the Flow”
a. Forward/backward break falls
b. Forward/backward combat rolls
c. Familiarization of stances: neutral, readied, fighting.
d. Defensive positions, covering & acceleration of reactionary stances
e. Application of force/pressure of knowledge garnered.
Week 2. Basic Striking & Mobility
a. Jabs/straights
b. Hooks/Upper Cuts
c. Elbows/Knees
d. Basic Kicks
e. 360 Burst Method
f. Application of striking in motion
g. Exploitation of vital striking points
h. Using aggression & intensity
Week 3. Escapes, obstacles & Natural Barriers
a. Wrist grabs
b. Under/Over arm grabs
c. Various Chokes
i. Strangulation vs. wall
ii. Basic Head Lock
iii. Basic Rear Lock
d. Reactionary stratagems vs. being cornered
e. Using aggressors as obstacles & barriers

Week 5 Putting It All Together!
a. Application of realism
i. Use of speed, power and angles
ii. Performing under pressure
iii. Performing during disorientation
iv. Defending vs. multiple opposition
