Description

IT’S ON!!!!  We will be ready to fire that Civil War cannon to start the 2021 Tea Burner Race!  So, shake off the rust and get ready to RUN!!!  We’ve missed you, and we really want you to feel the love with all the things -  a cool t-shirt, cannon start, chip timing, music, swag toss, and refreshments!  Plus CASH prizes!   1st place overall finishers, male and female, will each be awarded a $100 cash prize, 2nd place, male/female will receive $75 and 3rd place, male/female $50!  The Tea Burner 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk, held in memory of Mayor Wally Goodwin, will kick off the Cumberland County Historical Society’s Artisans’ Faire.   

Shirt is guaranteed for the first 125 registrants.

All race proceeds benefit the C. Wallis Goodwin Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Greenwich Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad.

The 5K course starts at the Morris Goodwin School and takes you past the Faire on historic Ye Greate Street lined by colonial homes, to Market Lane by a local marina on the Cohansey River and scenic marshland, to Pier Road with farms in view, then on to Bacons Neck Road and finally back to Ye Greate Street.  There will be a water station along the route and refreshments at the end!

Greenwich locals have a chance to win special prizes for the top three male and female Greenwich resident 5K runners.  And there will be Tea Burner medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female 5K finishers by age groups.  1 Mile Run/Walk participants will receive a participant medal.  The 5K will be professionally chip-timed by South Jersey Race Timing LLC.  A cool t-shirt is guaranteed for the first 125 registrants!  So, be sure to get that registration in early!  You may register on the morning of the race at the site, starting at 7:30 am.  Race day registration costs are as follows:

5K:     $30.00 (all ages)

1 Mile Run/Walk:  $15.00 (all ages)

Ages 5 & Under   -   Free, but no t-shirt

 The Mayors’ Challenge is open to ALL Firemen, Law Enforcement, Military, Paramedics/Health Care Professionals & Elected Officials
