New Enhanced Baggage Security Measures for Newport 10,000
Please be aware that we are implementing strict security measures for the 2018 Newport 10,000. As a result of these enhanced security measures, we anticipate some delays with access to the event site. We strongly suggest that participants leave any knapsacks, duffel bags, camelbacks, hydration packs, etc. in their cars and not bring them to the event site. None of them will be permitted inside the perimeter of the event site. Anyone who chooses to bring any type of pack or bag to the event site will be directed to a bag check tent at a remote location next to the site. All bags will be subject to inspection by the Jersey City Police Dept. and Newport Security and must be left at the bag check tent. The bag check process will take some time, so please factor additional time into your plans for race morning.
No bags or backpacks may be left at any other location within or near the event site. Any bag left unattended within the event site will be confiscated by the appropriate authorities. The Jersey City Police Dept. and Newport Security reserve the right to inspect any bag at any time, both within and outside the baggage check area.
Thank you for your understanding and your cooperation with our effort to provide a safe event.
