The Aisling & Olivia Fun Run and Remembrance Walk will start on the MRHS track at 9:15am and follow a route on the Linwood bike path finishing back at the track. We will also have a shorter Remembrance route for those that would like to walk the shorter distance. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 female & male runners as well as random finishers.
We are pleased to announce the third annual Aisling and Olivia Fun Run and Remembrance Walk. The event will take place Saturday, June 3, 2017 on the bike path in Linwood. It will consist of a 5k walk/run down the bike path starting at 9:15am and will have an extra special Kid Fun “run”. The Aisling and Olivia Fun Run has been established to honor our daughters.
Aisling was an incoming freshman at MRHS when she was tragically killed in a car crash while on her way to participate in a charity soccer tournament. The outstanding medical care & love that Aisling received from the medical professionals at the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center – City Campus gave her family & friends tremendous comfort. Aisling’s organs were donated, through the Gift of Life, with love and hope that others would have a second chance for a healthy & happy life.
Olivia was afflicted with a terrible disease that affected every organ in her body. Though her life was short, Olivia left her tiny footprint on the world. It is in her name that we want no other child to go through what she had to endure.
The proceeds from our Fun Run will benefi t several charities including ARMC-City Campus ER & ICU, CHOP Neo Natal Unit, Gift of Life, Mainland Regional Education Foundation and Trisomy 18 Foundation. These organizations are important to us, as they have each contributed signifi cantly to the lives of Aisling and Olivia.
We hope that members of our community and business owners will come together to support and make this event a very memorable one. Whether sponsoring, donating goods or services, or registering to run or walk, your participation is greatly appreciated.
