Pineland Striders Independence Day Races

Join the Pineland Striders for our annual Independence Day Races! The Pineland Striders are proud to welcome runners to Medford, NJ for the 45th year! Join us in celebrating Independence Day with some sweaty summer miles! 

The event features a 10K, 5K, and FREE Kids' Fun Run. Participants in the USATF-Sanctioned, chip-timed 10K and 5K will receive an exclusive PREMIUM race giveaway! No scratchy cotton t-shirt with dozens of sponsor logos at this race! If you've raced with us before, you'll know we're committed to providing some of the best swag around.

Both the 10K and 5K courses are fast and flat. On-course hydration will be available. Strollers are allowed on both the 10K and 5K races, but the race does finish by crossing a grass field onto the Shawnee High School track. Sorry, pet-lovers, but dogs are not allowed in the race. With a two-hour cutoff, all paces are welcome!

Proceeds from the races fund two scholarships for Shawnee High School student athletes, with the remaining proceeds benefiting the Shawnee High School athletics program.

Pre-registration closes on Wednesday, June 26. Race day registration will be available ($55 for the 10K, $45 for the 5K)!

We are excited to introduce a new Team Challenge for this year's event! When you sign up, feel free to create or join a team. All teams with five or more members will have their times entered into the Team Challenge. Each team's three fastest times will be combined, and the team with the fastest overall time will win the challenge! Awards will also be given out to the largest team and to the most spirited team. We'll leave it up to you to decide how to show your spirit. Costumes? Mascot? Theme song? Choreographed finish-line dance routine?!

  • 10:00am - Team Challenge Awards Ceremony
  • 10:30am - Event Concludes

Awards will be given to the first place male, female, and non-binary finisher in both the 10K and 5K races. Age group awards will be given to the first three male, female, and non-binary finishers in the following age groups: under 15, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and older.
