Location -- The race will occur on Crest Drive in the South Mountain Reservation, Millburn, NJ. The entrance to the reservation is off of South Orange Ave in South Orange, NJ and is on the south side of the street about 500 ft west of the Top Condominium located at 616 W. South Orange Ave.
The race itself will start and end near race Registration which will be held at the corner of Crest Drive and Bear Lane which is about ½ mile from the entrance to the Reservation.
Parking -- Parking at the Reservation is very limited; therefore, when you arrive, notify the officer that you are participating in the race and they will let you into the Reservation. If the parking area is full, there is a walkway to the Reservation located near 107 Claremont Avenue in Maplewood, NJ. Therefore, you can park on Claremont Ave, Wyoming Avenue, or Warner Ave and walk up the hill to the walkway where, at the top, you will find race registration and the starting line. Although the walk from Wyoming Ave to the top of Claremont Ave is only a quarter mile, it is a fairly significant hill.
Pre-Race Day Packet Pick-up: Pre-Race Day Packet Pickup will be available on Fri., Aug. 21 and Sat., Aug. 22 at Sneaker Factory in Florham Park, NJ at 177 Columbia Turnpike.
Pre-Race Day Registration -- If you have friends that want to register for the race after online registration closes Wednesday, August 19th at 11:59 pm EST, pre-race-day registration will be available on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at Sneaker Factory in Florham Park, NJ at 177 Columbia Turnpike.
Race Day Packet Pick-up and Registration -- Opens at 8:00 am. There will be a Registration Tent set-up near the start/finish line at the corner of Crest Drive and Bear Lane. Race Day registration will be $40.
The Wheelchair 5K race will begin at 10:00 am and the 5K will begin at 10:30 am
Kids Race -- There will be a one-mile kid’s race that will start at 9:30 am. Awards will be provided to the top 3 finishers and all participants will receive a medal. Registration will not be required for the kid’s races but we will have bibs available at the Registration Tent.
All proceeds for the race will go to fund Glenn's ongoing medical and race registration fees; however, if you would like proceeds to be donated to MAPSO TRI Relentless Forward Motion (RFM) Initiative please send an email to email@example.com to notify us. Additional donations can be made directly to Glenn and Team 2N's (non-tax deductible) at www.glennhartrick.com or can be made to MAPSO TRI RFM Initiative (100% tax deductible) at www.mapsotrirfm.com which is a collaborative effort between MAPSO TRI CLUB and Challenged Athletes Foundation which is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and the funds will be allocated to physically challenged athletes in the Northeast who want to get back to the start line as well. Last year, MAPSO RFM provided racing chairs, triathlon bikes, and running legs to 6 individuals and hopes to double that number next year.
