Virtual 5K Run/Walk for Beacon Animal Rescue

GO THE (SOCIAL) DISTANCE for Beacon Animal Rescue this summer!

This year has been tough for everyone -- including Beacon Animal Rescue's homeless dogs and cats. We have had to cancel the majority of our fundraising events, which are a major source of our income. But now there's a way for Beacon, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to raise some much-needed funds and for YOU to get outside (while practicing safe social distancing) for some fresh air and exercise!

The first-ever Beacon Animal 5K Run/Walk is a VIRTUAL EVENT that you do in your OWN FREE TIME IN YOUR OWN NEIGHBORHOOD -- YOU CAN EVEN DO IT ON A TREADMILL! This race will raise funds to help Beacon support its mission to rescue, shelter, and find loving homes for cats and dogs; to educate the community about responsible treatment of companion animals; and to promote the practice of spaying and neutering.

The fun kicks off on July 1, 2020, and runs the entire month until July, 31. Run or walk any time between those dates and track your results with us on this site. Awards will be given to the top winners in each age bracket.

We know that quarantining has not been easy. And though we are still discouraged from participating in large group events, Beacon's VIRTUAL 5K is a way to have fun outdoors safely and in your own time. Please adhere to the CDC's safety guidelines. Run solo or 6-feet away from a running partner. Walk with your dogs or kids. All are encouraged to participate in a safe manner.
