Due to CoVid 19, the Oburg mine will remain closed as well as the Township of Ogdensburg community event scheduled. This race may be scheduled for 2021.

Description
The Oburg 5K run or walk, known as the Major Race in a Miner Town has taken new direction and energy as it prepares for a new partner Sussex County Habitat in 2020! A new home reconstruction was just finished on Main Street thanks to Sussex County Habitat for Humanity! Runners and walkers will run through the historical Sterling Mine at around 2 miles, one of few in the world known for its rare displays...Each participant receives a free 2 hour mine tour pass until July 1st showing your bib number. Participants get a chance to sport a miner's helmet while passing thru the mine only. The day will be celebrated with DJ Benny music, 2 water stops, food and fun for all ages. Get a picture with the featured miner's cart at the Firehouse.
Shirts and goodie bags for all 5Kers while supplies last. Parking at the school and as directed. The 5k starts at the school .....and finishes behind the firehouse. Multiple Johnnie's for little wait time!! Unique awards as designed by Habitat and 60 medals for top three 10 year age groups.
