Roots, Rock, Run 5K (R3)
A public health initiative to promote community wellness
Together we are reclaiming our health and our communities. R3 brings people together to run, walk, dance, and move together.
It’s a celebration! #RootsRockRun5K
Whether you join us in person at in Plainefield, NJ, or participate virtually from anywhere in the world, your contribution will make a difference. On Saturday, June 27, between 8:30 am and 12:00 pm, we will collectively run or walk a 5K wherever we are, uniting to combat period poverty.
The in-person race will be at 8 am at the Milt Campbell Field, 1322 East 3rd Street, Plainfield, New Jersey
Early registration is Free until April 15 and $20.00 until June 16. The first 50 registrants, whether for the live or virtual race, will receive a commemorative t-shirt.

Do you want to train with a group to prepare for the Roots Rock Run 5K?
Training begins: April 25
Time: Saturdays from 9-10:30 am
Location: Plainfield High School, North Gym
Duration: 6 weeks
Race day: June 27, 2026
Eligibility: Youth ages 8 and older are welcome
Cost: Free for all participants

GrassROOTS Community Foundation is a public health and social action organization. We invest in our community members’ collective well-being so that they can use their healthy energy to transform themselves, their families and communities. We fund, support, develop and scale community health and wellness programs for women and girls, particularly those who are impoverished. We also advocate for policies and practices that reduce disparities and foster equity.
