Description

Thea’s Star of Hope was founded in 2011 with a mission to bring hope to kids with brain tumors by funding research to Improve treatments and provide support for families of kids with brain tumors so that they can live and not just survive. Two thirds of kids with cancer suffer life-long effects from the treatments used to save their lives. Organ damage, endocrine issues, neurological and cognitive impairment are just a few common “late effects.” Surgery, radiation and chemotheraphy–current standards of care–must be improved upon if this is to change.

Thea’s Star of Hope is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit. We are a Guidestar Silver-rated volunteer organization that directs more than eighty percent of our funds toward pediatric brain tumor programs and research.

DESCRIPTION:
Get ready for the inaugural half marathon located in Robbinsville Township, New Jersey.
This will be a USATF certified course.

SCHEDULE:
Optional race bib and t-shirt packet pickup
*FRIDAY April 5, 2019 (3pm - 7pm)
*SATURDAY April  6, 2019 (10AM-2PM) at location T.B.D.
*SUNDAY April 7, 2019
6AM-7:45AM On-site registration and number pick-up
8:00AM - RACE START
10:30AM AWARDS

RACE FEES:
$49  by Oct 31st (Early Bird Price) 
    $59 by Jan 4th,
        $69 by Feb 15th, 
             $79 by April 1st,  
                  $89 after April 1st while online registration remains open.

Race day Registration $100 if not sold out.    

COURSE:
The course will be a USATF Certified 13.1 mile course, mostly flat along country roads. The course will not be closed to traffic but this is a rural area. Police and certified flagmen will be at all road intersections.  Road course support will end at approximately 10:45 AM.  
  Runners/Joggers should maintain a minimum average pace of 12:30 min miles or 4.75 miles per hour.

The relay team option is available for co-ed teams of 2 to 4 runners. Each leg will be approximately 3 miles.
To sign up as a relay team, the first person to register will create a new team name and select team type as "Basic Relay Team".
Each team mate can register at their leisure. Setting a password for the team is optional. 

AWARDS:
Finisher medals to all finishers.
CASH AWARDS TOP OVERALL 3 MALE/FEMALES. $125 / $75 / $50
AGE GROUP AWARDS:
1st, 2nd & 3rd in each Age Group, Male and Female: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & Over

Stick around afterwards for beverages, post race food, music, and raffle prizes.
T-shirts to registrants before March 15, 2019. Then while supplies last.

EVENT CANCELATION POLICY
There is NO rain date. The race will be held Rain / Snow or Shine.

In case of inclement weather, the organization reserves the right to cancel/alter/modify the race/course for safety concerns. In any case, there will be No Refunds of race entry fees nor is there guarantee of any complementary race entry to a future race. Each athlete must accept any such risk of their entry fee paid. Monies collected are used to provide support to our charity, as well as to develop and produce the event. We pledge to make every effort to produce a fair, safe and exciting event for all. Any decision made to cancel or modify the race is based on the overall event and participant safety.

Pace Group Suport

We have enlisted the help of pace group leaders from Beast Pacing. 
We anticipate having at 2 pacers/time slot maintaining the following paces: 1:40, 1:50, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45, and 3:00.

Beast Pacing provides pacers for events across the United States and abroad. BP pacers are professional, but have FUN while helping other runners reach their goals. Whether it is a Boston Qualifying Time you are looking for, a P.R., or just someone to run with, we are there to help! BP pacers are chosen for their ability to successfully lead a group while keeping them motivated all the way to the finish. Pacers are assigned to Half Marathon times 10 minutes slower than they typically run and are required to finish the race within 1 minute of goal time, but never over.
