Description

Now is your chance to join us for a fully crewed and supported experience across the New Jersey Appalachian Trail on May 17th, 2025. Our team will assist in crewing, pacing, shuttling, and even an AirBnB the night beforehand so all you have to worry about is experiencing the pristine forests of New Jersey.
On May 17th, we will start on the NJ/PA border at 7am and runners will have the option during registration to sign up for a marathon or 40 miler.

This is a fundraising event for MissionCleanWater and there is a mandatory fundraising minimum of $1,000. If every participant reaches their goal, we can complete a 10 well rehabilitation projects for 10,000 people.

Why Do The NJ AT With Us?

We are ready to provide you a fully supported experience across the New Jersey portion of the Appalachian Trail. Completing the AT on our own can be challenging because it is a point A to point B route and hard to be able to return to your vehicle if solo. We want to provide you with our many years of experience planning adventures so all you have to worry about is enjoying the day.

We will be providing runners with:
Shuttling: transportation from AirBNB to start and from finish lines back to vehicles, so you can focus on the run.
AirBnB: Traveling far? Come stay at a AirBNB with us the day beforehand, meal is on us.
Portable Aid Stations: A regular supply of water, electrolytes, food, and requests.
First Aid: We will have a fully stocked first aid kit just in case which will include extra supplies for gastrointestinal and blister issues.
Pace Cars: 2 cars will be zig-zagging throughout the course to meet each runner at every checkpoint to resupply.
Check Points: Check points will be every 5-10 miles so we can see how you are doing and resupply.
Choose Your Challenge: Set your own pace, set a record, challenge your limits, or savor the scenic beauty at your leisure.
Pacers: Two MissionCleanWater team members that are experienced ultra runners will be staying with runners to make sure they are safe.
Virtual Prep Sessions: biweekly, optional, virtual sessions to learn strategies, best practices, and hear from the best.
Personalized Training Plans: Tailored plans to prep each runner and the ability to chat with our team for advice.

Who is MissionCleanWater?

At MissionCleanWater, we're not just a nonprofit organization; we're dedicated to developing equitable clean water solutions and have long term successful solutions.

🌟 Our Mission: Empowering underserved communities with access to clean drinking water and sanitation, we strive to break the chains of waterborne diseases and create a ripple effect of economic prosperity. Since 2018, we have provided clean water to 50,000 community members in Uganda and supply 2,000 gallons of clean water weekly to USA communities affected by lead contamination.

💧 Why We Race for Clean Water: Completing these adventure would not be possible without having clean drinking water. It gives us an opportunity to take a step in women and children's shoes who are walking to collect water every day.

Game Day Plan

Runners have the option to stay with our team at Culver Lake on the night of May 16th, before the run begins. We'll kick things off with a celebratory team dinner on Friday night to gear up for the adventure ahead.

On May 17th, we’ll meet at 6:00 am at the Culver Gap parking lot (41.180146, -74.788013), which is close to our HQ at Culver Lake and the midpoint of the route. MissionCleanWater will shuttle runners to the NJ/PA border for a 7:00 am start. All runners have a 14-hour time limit to complete the course, with a checkpoint requirement to reach the marathon finish (Checkpoint 4) at Culver Lake by 5:30 pm. Runners who continue beyond the marathon will aim to complete the full 40 miles at High Point State Park, where our team will be there to cheer you on every step of the way.

Along the route, there will be 4 checkpoints for the marathon and 5 checkpoints for the 40-miler, in addition to the start and finish points. Checkpoints are spaced 3 to 9 miles apart, depending on accessibility along the AT. Before starting, we’ll ensure every runner is familiar with mobile GPS apps, trail navigation, and has the required gear for a safe and successful journey.

Fundraising Goal

We've Got Your Back

Fundraising can be an adventure of its own, and we're here to make it a rewarding one. Our dedicated team is ready to provide you with resources, tips, and personalized assistance to help you reach and exceed your fundraising goal. Your fundraising journey towards $1,000 might seem daunting but we are here to help you.

How Will My Fundraising Be Used?

100% of the proceeds will go towards MissionCleanWater's next clean water project, a solar distribution system to connect multiple communities in the Kalaki District of Uganda. This project has been in continuous development for since the summer of 2024. The borehole and solar energy aspects have all been completed. Now we need to develop a distribution network that will connect multiple communities to clean water. The goal with this effort is to connect 4 communities and 2 schools to ensure no one has to walk more then .5kms to a clean water point that is available year round.
