Women's History Month VIRTUAL Walk

It's Women's History Month! Though we're all still navigating virtual life amidst a pandemic, Student Life is encouraging you to come together & get some fresh air. So walk (or run, or skip, or hop) a mile in her shoes at your nearest park or around your neighborhood during the last week of March. Be sure to reflect on this special month and call out things like gender bias & inequality. All are encouraged to join in, and although the goal is 1 mile, any amount will be celebrated!

The colors that designate the month are purple, green, and/or white to celebrate, and use the hashtags #ChooseToChallenge and #rcsjstudentlife for photo submissions! All participants will be mailed a gift as thanks for participating!

This year's International Women's Day campaign has chosen the theme #ChooseToChallenge with the idea that a challenged world is an alert world and individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions. "We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality," the campaign states. "We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world." People are being asked to "raise your hand high to show you're in and that you commit to choose to challenge and call out inequality".
