Fall into Running: YCAT 2023 Fall Fundraiser

Youth Climate Action Team Inc. (YCAT) is a youth-powered nonprofit organization actively educating young people and taking action on the climate crisis. We work with mainly students and organizations indirectly tied to the climate crisis—civic engagement, women empowerment,  youth service groups, etc.—to expand the climate movement by bringing in new groups and offering accessible, diverse intersectional climate action opportunities. 

The  YCAT Finance department is proud to announce the “Fall Into Running” Virtual 5K Fall Fundraiser. 

A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from anywhere at any time. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym, or on the track.

Starting on November 5th, 2023, participants from all over the globe will compete with each other to complete a half-marathon within 3 weeks. Not only will participants fundraise for YCAT’s climate action initiatives through this virtual race, but participants will also be physically engaged, and motivated, and achieve new goals in a safe but challenging environment.

In a time when we are all enjoying the comfort of our homes, it is important to appreciate and explore the world around us. This challenge offers a chance to appreciate the beauty of nature and challenge yourself to   

Participants will register and utilize the RunSign Up online platform, in which they will be able to log their activity and submit their results. Upon registering, participants will need to pay an upfront fee, and 25% of all proceeds will be donated to Tree Plenish to plant tree saplings all over the country. 

Participants have access to a personal dashboard where they can view their event details, update their information, and manage their registrations. Event-related communication and updates will also be sent through the online platform. Top performers will be acknowledged on our social media and all participants will be issued a certificate of achievement upon completion of the challenge.
