Pass It Along Triathlon at Lake Mohawk Country Club CANCELED for 2020!

It is safe to say that the past few weeks have been a unique, unsettling time for everyone. In the words of Thomas S. Monson, “We can’t direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails.” Focus on what is present around you, and how that makes your life better each and every day. Using our strength and positive energy, we can beat this virus!

After careful consideration, we have come to a conclusion to cancel this year’s event due to the current standings of the COVID-19 pandemic. Though this was not an easy decision to come to, we feel it is essential to keep the safety of our participants, spectators , staff, vendors and volunteers a top priority.

With that being said, we want to provide three options regarding the disbursement of your current payment towards the event.  With your permission:

  1. We can issue a refund for the total amount to your form of payment used when registering for the race on RunSignUp. Please note that funds could take up to seven businesses days to process after we submit the request.
  2. We can carry over your registration for this year’s event towards participation in the Pass It Along Triathlon in 2021. If this is an option you would like to consider, please let us know and we will provide extended details. The anticipated date of next year’s event is July 24, 2021.
  3. We can redistribute your registration as a gracious, one-time donation to Pass It Along’s Circle of Hope Foundation. Your contribution will help to provide programs in education and leadership, self-exploration and reflection, and service in action to local teenagers searching for their passion and purpose. Please note that Pass It Along is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Our Tax ID Number is 80-0018706. If you choose to redistribute your funds as a donation, please retain this letter for your tax records.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at any time, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. From all of us at Pass It Along, we thank you for your support in our organization through your participation in the Triathlon at Lake Mohawk Country Club. It is your support that allows our organization to build confident, resilient, compassionate teenagers through self-discovery, volunteerism and leadership opportunities.

Here Are Your Options:

We will transfer your registration to the new event date once it is set, and look forward to having you join us. Thanks for your patience!

You understand that events are expensive, even when cancelled, and you want us to keep your registration fees to help cover our costs. We deeply appreciate your generosity and look forward to seeing you at an event soon.

We completely understand. We hope you can join us next time!

Description

The Pass It Along Triathlon at Lake Mohawk Country Club is a one day event, offering two USAT Sanctioned Courses: Sprint & Olympic (See Details Below).

This event is great for both first timers and intermediate/advanced athletes. Participants can register as an individual entry, or as a relay team. Both the Sprint and Olympic Events take place at the scenic, privately owned lake community of Lake Mohawk Country Club, located in Sparta Township, New Jersey. Parking for the event is conveniently located directly across from the transition area and swim start at the Historic Lake Mohawk Country Club Clubhouse. Circa 1929, this castle-like structure is listed on the national and state registers of historic places due to its uniqueness of architecture. The transition area is a grassy field, located east of the clubhouse.

The swim portion of the event occurs in the calm waters of the lake, which is patrolled by over 30 lifeguards in boats, kayaks and/or paddle boards.  The bike course consists of several hills, and directs participants through the residential countryside of Sparta, Byram and Andover Townships. The run, mostly flat, is along the eastern shore of Lake Mohawk. Participants on the bike and run courses will travel through the lake community's village center, Lake Mohawk White Deer Plaza. The finish line for the event is also located at the Lake Mohawk White Deer Plaza. The Plaza is a convenient and great place for spectators to view the athletes while on the bike and run courses, and crossing the finish line.

Age Requirements: The minimum years of age for participation in the Sprint Olympic Courses is 14.  All participants under the age of 18 years must mail a signed USAT waiver to Pass It Along, 75 State Route 15, Unit 62, Lafayette, NJ 07848 with additional signature of consent of parent/legal guardian.

Discount pricing will be available for Lake Mohawk Country Club Members, which will be indicated by each event. (LMCC)

Online Registration Closes on Tuesday, July 21st at 5:00pm (EST) or when 350 entries are filled. If spots are still available after Tuesday, July 21st, registrations will be accepted in person (ie. walk ins) at Lake Mohawk Country Club (21 The Boardwalk, Sparta, New Jersey) on Thursday, July 23rd and Friday, July 24th from 4:30pm to 8:30pm only. Please Note: NO RACE DAY REGISTRATIONS.

Net proceeds benefit Pass It Along, a 501c3 nonprofit organization providing free programs to local teenagers in self-discovery, volunteerism and leadership. Pass It Along's mission is to build confident, resilient, compassionate teenagers through self-discovery, volunteer and leadership opportunities. By participating in the Pass It Along program, teenagers gain a strong sense of self, learn about the positive effects of helping others and are equipped to avoid risky behaviors.
