Love and Legacy 5K

The Summit Area YMCA is thrilled to announce the return of a beloved springtime tradition, the Love and Legacy 5K, taking place on Sunday, May 3, 2026. This heartwarming event brings families and community members to run or walk in honor or memory of a special individual, while at the same time empowering and strengthening their own health. 

We are eagerly anticipating another fantastic turnout for our 5K Race, as well as our Kids Dash and Family Fun Fair, which will feature a DJ, kid’s activities, program booths, and refreshments. 

Since our founding in 1886, the Summit Area YMCA has been dedicated to fostering youth development, promoting healthy living, and championing social responsibility. Funds raised from the 5K will ensure that health and wellbeing resources are available to anyone regardless of financial circumstances. Donations also sustain free initiatives like LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA, a program for cancer survivors to regain strength.  

RACE DAY SCHEDULE

Sunday, May 3, 2026
Location: Summit YMCA, Maple Street

7:30 – 8:15 AM – Race Day Registration & Check-In
8:15 – 8:29 AM – Announcements & Pre-Race Warm-Up
8:30 AM – Official 5K Start
9:30 AM – Awards Ceremony

FAMILY FUN FAIR - 9:00 A.M. - RAIN or SHINE!!

Enjoy games, face painting, tattoos, crafts, and MORE! The carnival will take place during and immediately following the 5K.

KIDS DASH - 10:00 A.M. - Subject to slight delay based on event flow.

A special race just for the smaller kids! This shorter dash will be held on the Village Green grass near the family fun fair. All participants will receive a medal. 

LOVE AND LEGACY TREE

Let's honor those who have made a lasting impact in our lives. Bring a photo, drawing, painting, or other memento to hang on our dedicated tree in tribute to your loved one(s).

Register by April 6 to receive an official Love and Legacy 5K shirt! No extra shirts will be available after this date.

COURSE RULES

Strollers are allowed, please be mindful of fellow runners and allow others to pass freely.
Dogs are not permitted on the course due to USATF regulations, but they’re welcome to cheer from the sidelines!

Rain or Shine! The race will take place regardless of weather conditions. However, the Family Fun Fair may be canceled if conditions are unsafe.
