Fri April 1 - Thu May 5

Description

The National Center for Advocacy and Recovery for Behavioral Health (NCAAR-BH) is committed to raising public awareness of Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). It is our goal for these efforts to promote an understanding, reduce stigma, and provide education regarding treatment and prevention of AUD.

April is National Alcohol Awareness month but has received little attention in the recent decade. According to the National Institute on Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse (NIAAA), an estimated 95,000 people die from alcohol-related causes annually, making AUD the third-leading preventable cause of death in the United States.  For more information:

Now more than ever, this public health concern requires awareness and action.  According to the National Center for Drug Abuse statistics (NCDAS), 60% of people increased their alcohol consumption during the COVID-19 lockdowns. For more information:

At NCAAR-BH, our statewide advocacy efforts address all substance related issues, including AUD.  NCAAR-BH has helped thousands of people at the legislative level as a direct result of support from people just like you who want to see local, state, and national change for the better! Our work has resulted in victories, such as the Parity Bill. This bill requires health insurance providers to cover substance use disorder benefits the same as they would physical health benefits.

Your support directly helps foster our volunteer advocacy leadership program. Without this grassroots constituency, our efforts will fall short.

So walk, run, or bike your way to making a difference today! Participation includes individual, team, or sponsorships starting at just $15.
