Beyond the Pappus, Inc. Walk to Remember

Who We Are?

Beyond the Pappus was created with a heartfelt mission... to grant therapeutic wishes for children and youth, ages 3–18, who have experienced the loss of an immediate family member. We believe in the importance of remembrance, connection, and the healing power of community. Our vision is to be a leading provider of support for families as they navigate life after loss.

Walk to Remember: Join us at Verona Park for a meaningful day of remembrance, hope, and healing. Together, we’ll honor loved ones, support one another, and make a difference for grieving children and families in our community.

Below we have highlighted some recent therapeutic wishes granted in 2025, each fulfilled to bring moments of comfort, healing and hope to the children and families we support.

Highlights of 2025 Therapeutic Wishes...

"I wish to go to my first Yankee game, my favorite team, and the team my father and I would watch together all the time."

"I wish to Skydive!"

"We went for Molly's wish. She had an incredible time. She wanted to skydive so she could feel closer to heaven. Thank you again for gifting an experience that made my baby feel closer to her daddy even if just for a few minutes. Those minutes are everlasting in her heart and mind."

"I want to learn how to sing and act!"

When meeting Sophia, she expressed her passion for singing and acting, although she had no outlet or exposure to drama. We paired her with a 3-week summer program at a local Theatre Company! Sophia loved acting so much she continues to act in Drama Club at school. We are proud to be a part of Sophia's journey and bring her so much needed joy she deserves.

"I wish to see the play Hamilton on Broadway!"

Caleigh’s beautiful and heartfelt wish was to see Hamilton on Broadway for the very first time. This show, a favorite of both Caleigh and her father, holds a deep emotional connection for her. The music and story bring back treasured memories of their time together watching Hamilton on TV and served as a special way for Caleigh to honor her father’s memory.

"I wish to take horse riding lessons!"

"Shannon describes her experience as "Peaceful". Thank you so much for making my girl's wish come true!"
