SAGE Virtual Walk-A-Thon!

Due to COVID-19 we were unable to have our spring 5K on campus last year; however, members of Students Advocating for Girls Education (SAGE) still wanted to find ways to help schools in our area. We decided to put together a virtual week-long walk-a-thon where anyone can participate from the comfort of their own yard, neighborhood or favorite walking path! Participants can walk or run at any time of the day over the course of one week: 9/21-9/25 at midnight. Please keep track of your miles each day. We are relying on the honor system. At the conclusion of the event, please email your logged miles to @sagemonmouth@gmail.com. The participant with the most miles logged will win a Visa gift card; however, this is not the only way to win prizes. Raise $50 or more individually or $150 or more as a family and you will receive a Sage Walk-A-Thon t-shirt! (If you raised over $50/150, please also email your shirt size to the email above.) Get out and get active!! Prizes will be awarded after the event has concluded. All the money raised will be donated to WAGE (Women and Girls' Education) - SAGE's parent organization. The funds will then be distributed to local schools in the Monmouth County area to help them provide more resources for students, such as: laptops, tablets, books, food etc. We all know how hard and stressful the last few months have been, and as you can imagine, they were even worse for students and teachers who lacked the proper resources to make the switch to remote learning. We are not guaranteed to return to school in the fall or staying the entirety of the semester, so we are raising this money in the hopes that it will help schools become better equipped. We have asked for a suggested donation of $10, but any amount may be donated.
