Storm The Surf Virtual 5K

Storm The Surf Virtual 5K is a race that will benefit Operation Beachhead.  This means you can run your 5K by your home, a local park, on your treadmill at the gym or in your basement or get a group to run together between Sept. 18 -24th, 2016.  Sign up, run and receive a "Storm The Surf Virtual 5K" medal for participating!**

Operation Beachhead is a 501(c)3 non-profit which operates out of Sea Girt, NJ.  Their mission is to offer disabled veterans, adults and children with special needs, active duty troops and veterans adaptive recreational, sports and social activities.  

Operation Beachhead grew out of the desire to provide fun and adventurous beach activities to the most brave and deserving among us; disabled U.S. military veterans.  Generally these experiences that they like to refer to as "storming the surf" are unavailable to the disabled without safe instruction and appropriate lifeguard presence. They quickly realized that storming the surf through the activities of surfing, boogie boarding, kayaking, paddle boarding and more, was an invigorating experience for the disabled veterans and therefore wanted to expand the program to include others.  So in addition to disabled vets, they also warmly welcome and strongly encourage all active duty troops as well as disabled civilians to come and experience "storming the surf".

Entirely supported by donations and managed by volunteers whose sole purpose it is to help enhance the lives of our heroes and those with challenges, Operation Beachhead continues to expand its programs and services to offer a variety of year round activities including winter sport programs providing free services and opportunities to well over 225 participants. 

Operation Beachhead continues to grow each year. Because of generous donations, Operation Beachhead now offers a full winter program of ice skating/ice sleding, ice/sled hockey in addition to their summer program.  All profits from this event will be donated to Operation Beachhead so they may continue to offer these recreational sports and activiites to our veterans, troops, disabled individuals and their families.  Thank you in advance for you support!
