KENT HODGES MEMORIAL TRAIL RUN

On September 30, 2007, the Gallup community lost a dear friend. Less than one mile from the finish line of the Squash Blossom 1/2 Marathon, Kent Hodges collapsed from a massive heart attack. In honor of Kent, the race has been renamed.

The 1/2 Marathon is a difficult course and should not be attempted by novice runners. The events are held on the 2nd and 3rd mesa loops of the High Desert Trail System, a very challenging trail with some rugged technical sections and short steep sections. The trail weaves through pristine mesas full of junipers and pinions with breathtaking views! Come out and join us for the Kent Hodges Memorial 1/2 Marathon. Walkers are welcome and start at 7am.
