Description
After a successful 2023 event, the Los Alamos High School NJROTC invites you to come out again and run for the awareness and prevention of veteran suicide.
Every day 22 Veterans commit suicide. The 2022-23 school year our NJROTC cadets ran a combined 22 miles in support of life and to let our local Veterans know their lives are important. On September 16, 2023 we hosted our first ever 'til Valhalla 5k and Fun Run in which we raised $7,500 for Mission 22. As we move into 2024 we wanted to make an even bigger impact by hosting the 'til Valhalla 5k and Fun Run 2024, in which again all of our registration proceeds will be donated to Mission 22. Mission 22 is an organization that is committed to "provide extensive, personalized support and resources to help Veterans and their families thrive."
Not a runner but still want to do the full 5k because 1 mile just isn’t enough? Walkers are invited to participate in the 5k as well!
This year we are adding a theme to both the 5K and the Fun Run. This year as we run for our heroes, we invite you to come out dressed as your hero! Whether your hero is your mom or dad or Superman or Dora the Explorer, think of your hero and come out and represent them!
If you sign up for the 5k and donate $50 or more you will receive $10 off your registration fee!
If you sign up for the Fun Run and donate $30 or more you will receive $5 off your registration fee!

1st Annual 'til Valhalla 5k and Fun Run 2023 Huge Success
Los Alamos High School NJROTC thanks everyone involved in our first ever annual 5k event in the fight against Veteran suicide. It was a huge success thanks to our sponsors, Los Alamos County, LANL and all of the participants that came out to run in support of our cause! We raised $7,500 to donate to Mission 22 and that is AMAZING! We can only hope to continue to grow every year moving forward! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH, WE HOPE TO SEE YOU BACK NEXT YEAR!!
