We are excited to celebrate the 4th of July with you at the beautiful Los Poblanos Open Space!

LOCATION

Los Poblanos Open Space
5601 Tierra Viva Pl NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107

The race starts and finishes at the Los Poblanos Field Trails staging area.

PARKING

Parking is available near the staging area, with additional overflow parking available along the road near the venue. Please arrive early to allow yourself plenty of time to park and get checked in.

Restrooms are located in the parking lot area.

Once you arrive, head toward the gazebo and staging area, or simply follow the music!

RACE START

All participants start together at 8:00 AM.

Please be at the start line at least 10 minutes before the race begins.

BIBS & TIMING

The Firecracker Run is a professionally chip-timed event.

Please:

• Wear your bib on the front of your chest

• Make sure it is clearly visible

You must be officially registered to participate.

DRESS THE PART

Wear your best Red, White & Blue!

We'll be celebrating Independence Day in style, and patriotic outfits are highly encouraged. We will have an award for the best costumed individual! 

COURSE INFORMATION

The course consists of a dirt trail loop around the fields.

• 1 Loop = approximately 2 Miles

• 2 Loops = approximately 4 Miles

Please stay aware of runners around you.

When passing another participant, politely announce:
"On your left!" or "Passing!"

Let's make the course fun and safe for everyone.

DOGS & STROLLERS

Dogs and strollers are welcome!

Please be courteous to fellow participants and keep dogs under control at all times. If running with a stroller, please start toward the back and allow extra space when passing others.

SUMMER SAFETY

It will be a summer morning in Albuquerque, so please come prepared.

We recommend:

• Wearing a hat

• Applying sunscreen

• Staying hydrated before the race

• Bringing sunglasses if desired

AWARDS & MEDALS

Every finisher will receive a custom Firecracker Run finisher medal.

Overall Awards

The top Male and Female finishers will receive special awards.

Age Group Awards

The top Male and Female in each age group will receive an award:

• 0–9

• 11–14

• 15–19

• 20–29

• 30–39

• 40–49

• 50–59

• 60–69

• 70–79

• 80+

Age group winners may pick up their medals at the Timing Tent after results are finalized.

COFFEE & POST-RACE FUN

Our friends from Sueños Coffee will be onsite helping keep everyone energized and fueled.

Stick around after your race, cheer on fellow runners, take photos, and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
