FAQs
How does this Virtual Run work?
It’s a run that you can participate in from anywhere and everywhere. You get to do it at a time that’s convenient for you and choose the distance that you prefer.
Can you translate the "K" distance to "Miles" for me?
No problem!
– 1K = 0.62 miles (a great distance for the kiddos!)
– 5K = 3.1 miles
– 10K = 6.2 miles
How do I participate?
Simply register on this page and then pick a day between Sun 10/16/22 to Sun 10/23/22 to complete your run with friends and family. On Sun 10/23/22 between 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, you can swing by Cy Tenney Park (36 Johnson Street, Peabody, MA 01960) for a Post-Run Celebration. At the Celebration, you can pick up your official finisher's medal, enjoy a snack, and celebrate with fellow run participants! Don't worry, if you're not able to join us in-person, we'll ship your medal to you. In your confirmation email, you’ll also receive a link to a downloadable commemorative race bib that you can print and wear while you're doing your run.
What's the Post-Run Celebration?
Even though you're doing the run on your own time, we still wanted to offer a chance for all of the participants to get together. At the Post-Run Celebration, you'll be able to pick up your official finisher’s medal, enjoy a snack, and celebrate with fellow run participants! Come by Cy Tenney Park (36 Johnson Street, Peabody, MA 01960) on Sunday, October 23, 2022 anytime between 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. And remember, don't worry if you're not able to join us for this event because we'll ship your to you a few days later.
How much does it cost to enter?
The race entry fee is $36 per adult (18 and up) or $18 per youth (17 and under) and includes a downloadable commemorative race bib and an official finisher’s medal. 100% of all net proceeds will benefit the NSJCC.
Do I need to prove that I did the miles?
Nah! We trust you to get your miles done because what’s far more important is that your entry fee is supporting the NSJCC.
When will I receive my medal?
Medals can be picked up at the Post-Run Celebration on Sunday 10/13/22 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Cy Tenney Park (36 Johnson Street, Peabody, MA 01960). If you're not able to join us in-person on this day/time, we'll ship your medal to you the week after the run ends.
Can I participate from an international location?
You are certainly welcome to register and participate in the race from any location around the world, but we are unable to ship medals internationally at this time.
Do you offer discounts?
Because we want as much money as possible to go to the NSJCC, there are no discounts available for the entry fee.
Why are you asking for additional donations on top of the entry fee?
This virtual run was created for the sole purpose of raising as much money as possible to benefit the NSJCC and every dollar raised helps to support this important non-profit community organization!
What is the North Suburban Jewish Community Center (NSJCC)?
For over 36 years, the NSJCC has been known in the Greater Peabody area as a center for Jewish life and community programs, through its renowned Early Childhood Program and its many family and adult program offerings. The NSJCC offers infant, toddler, preschool and transitional kindergarten programs which operate 7AM – 6PM year round. The NSJCC has provided thousands of children with the warm, nurturing care that gives them an early sense of accomplishment and self-esteem. We provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum, based on knowledge of how children grow and what they can do socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically. We provide an atmosphere where children practice kindness and respect for one another and believe that children learn by being actively involved. Each of our programs is individualized to meet the needs of every child.
In September 2012, the NSJCC moved to a brand-new location at 240 Lynnfield Street, as part of the expanded campus of Chelsea Jewish Lifecare. Our state of the art facility has specially designed classrooms which are equipped with new, age-appropriate furniture, toys, reading areas, and learning centers. Our children utilize other larger spaces throughout the Chelsea Jewish Lifecare campus for community programs and school-wide activities. The NSJCC also features outdoor play spaces designed for each age group. The NSJCC also brings infant, toddler, preschool and school age children together with residents of Chelsea Jewish Lifecare to incorporate real life experiences into their curricula and expose children to the benefits of intergenerational relationships.
The NSJCC also offers many programs open to its members and community at-large. Recent family programs include Shabbat Shalom Circle, Rosh Hashanah apple picking, Havdalah concerts, and children’s book author events. Adult programs include a Comedy Night at the Black Box, Wine Tasting, and Flower Arranging Class, as well as other social outings and fundraising events. Additional programs geared specifically for NSJCC alumni (children and adults) are also held throughout the year. Please visit our EVENTS Page for more information about upcoming events.
