WHAT PRECAUTIONS ARE YOU TAKING DUE TO COVID? Everyone will be required to wear a mask until they start running. There will be 6’ spacing guides marked on the ground for race day packet pick up. Hand sanitizers will be at the registration area and throughout the venue. All staff and volunteers will be required to wear masks. Prepackaged snacks will be provided after the race.
WHERE DO I PARK? There is plenty of parking available at Kellogg Zaher Park. Use the park entrance at Cimarron for the closest parking to the start/finish.
ARE THERE AWARDS? Registered 5K and 1 Mile participants will receive a finisher’s medal. Due to social distancing, there will not be an awards ceremony. There will be Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female awards in addition to age group awards for the 5K. The top 3 in the following male and female age groups will receive an award certificate via email: 9 and Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and Over.
CAN I CHANGE DISTANCES? Yes, just let us know when you pick up your packet. If you decide to change distances on race morning please let the race timer know so your results will be correct.
CAN I WEAR HEADPHONES? Yes, headphones are allowed but not recommended for safety purposes.
ARE DOGS ALLOWED? Yes, leashed dogs are allowed on the run. We just ask that you start near the back so you don't interfere with the faster runners.
ARE STROLLERS ALLOWED? Yes, you are welcome to bring a stroller on the run. We just ask that you start near the back so you don’t interfere with the faster runners.
IS THERE A GEAR CHECK? The race starts and ends near the parking area so we ask participants to keep their extra clothes in their vehicles.
CAN I WALK THE 5K? Yes, walkers are welcome!
IS THE RACE CHIP TIMED? Yes, you will have a disposable timing chip in the form of a sticker on the back of you race bib, please wear your bib on the front of your shirt/outer layer.
HOW MANY WATER STATIONS ARE THERE? There will be one water station for the 5K near mile 2.
WHERE ARE THE RESTROOMS LOCATED? There are restrooms located behind registration/check-in.
WHEN AND WHERE IS PACKET PICK-UP? Packet Pickup will be Wednesday, November 25, 2020 3pm-6pm place to be determined. Friends and family can pick up your packet for you!
CAN I PICK UP A PACKET FOR SOMEONE ELSE? Yes, just give staff the full name of all registrants you are picking up for.
WHEN DOES REGISTRATION CLOSE? Online registration closes at 5pm on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Registration will be available during packet pickup on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 from 3pm – 6pm during packet pickup and on and race morning beginning at 7am.
CAN I GET MY PACKET MAILED TO ME? Race packets will be mailed to virtual participants. Packets must be picked up in person for all other participants and will not be mailed before or after the race.
REFUNDS, CANCELLATIONS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION There are no refunds for this event. Race Management reserves the right to cancel or modify the event due to unfavorable conditions. Registration fees are not refundable in the event of cancellation due to “Acts of God.”
Girls on the Run of Las Vegas is an independent council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of over 200 councils across 50 states and the District of Columbia. Girls on the Run of Las Vegas was established in 2011 to serve the Las Vegas Valley and has had over 2000 participants over the past nine years.
Girls on the Run International was established in 1996 in Charlotte, North Carolina by Molly Barker. What started with thirteen girls in one school has grown to over 200 councils in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. With the help of almost 100,000 volunteers, Girls on the Run served nearly 180,000 girls in 2015, including our millionth girl! Girls on the Run continues to grow and currently hosts more than 350 end-of-season 5K events across the United States, making the Girls on the Run 5K series the largest in the country. Girls on the Run has also expanded to include middle school girls through Heart & Sole, a program dedicated to the unique needs of adolescent girls.
