Lyme Away 5K

The Lyme Away 5K was created by the team captain for the Spa City Running Club (spacityrunners.org) as a way to help raise funds for the Club.  She wanted to incorporate a non-profit organization to help raise funds for them as well.  With the increase in lyme disease over the past several years, it seemed like the perfect time to include a lyme disease awareness organization.  This year's partner will be The Lyme Action Network (lymeactionnetwork.org).

The Lyme Action Network is dedicated to informing the public about Lyme and other tick-borne diseases and working to help the victims of Lyme disease through education, advocacy, scientific research, and support.  The Lyme Action Network is a 501 (c)(3) not for profit organization.

Spa City Running Club, Inc., the host of the Lyme Away 5K, believes in student athletes and fostering a balance between academics, home life and athletics.  They create opportunities for the youth to develop as complete athletes.  They focus on all areas and skills to help the athletes physical conditioning and becoming a part of a team.  They offer cross country as well as track and field training for boys and girls starting at the age of 8 years old.  Spa City Running Club, Inc. is a not for profit organization.

The fun run will have an entry fee of $5 per runner if you pre-register or bring $5 of donated non-perishable food items on race day that will be collected and donated to local food pantries.

Awards for overall Male and Female winners and top three in the following age groups: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
