The Virtual 2022 Nun Run/Walk 5K!

Please join the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York at their Seventh Annual Nun Run/Walk 5K from Saturday, October 22nd to Sunday, October 23rd.

What does it mean for the 2022 Nun Run/Walk 5K to be virtual?

Online registration is the same as always, but instead of gathering together in Blauvelt, you can run or walk on your own schedule between October 22nd and 23rd from wherever you choose! Whether you are running or walking in your backyard, park, neighborhood, or on a treadmill, you can "run" your race, and then record and submit your time.  Results will be scored and finisher certificates will be emailed out to all participants on Monday, October 24th. Participants can also view their time and results from the results page at www.secondwindresults.com starting Monday, October 24th.

Register online anytime up until Friday, October 21st*, 2022 at 12:00 noon. 

*Please note registrations received after October 7, 2022, will not be guaranteed a Race T-Shirt or Race Bag. 

Registered runners and walkers will be provided with an online time submission link. This will come in an email directly from our friends at Second Wind Timing, once online registration closes on Friday, October 21st. The email will also include a virtual race bib you can download and print.

Once registered, you will also be sent information on how to pick up your official Nun Run/Walk 5K shirt and Race Bag.

Then, complete your run anytime between 12:00 AM on October 22, 2022, and 12:00 pm on October 23, 2022.

Everyone will receive a finisher certificate!

To be considered for award certificates we ask that all runners submit 'proof of time'.  Either a photo of a GPS watch screen or a screenshot to a smartphone running app that calculates distance/time.  For a free phone app visit:  https://www.strava.com. All registration fees, sponsorships, and donations will benefit the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York.

HOW TO COMPLETE YOUR VIRTUAL RACE

  • Register for the race online
  • Complete a 5K, run/walk at your convenience, any time, anywhere between October 22nd and 23rd, 2022
  • Look for an email Friday afternoon from our timing friends at Second Wind Race Timing (result@secondwindresults.com).  This email will contain your personalized link to submit your results.
  • Submit your time (optional) to see how you placed overall and receive your certificate
  • Celebrate your accomplishment by sharing on social media! #NunRunSelfie

HOW TO CREATE A TEAM
During registration, you can set up a team name. Share your team name with others so when they go to register, they look for your team name to join. 

Only 1 person on your team needs to register and create a team name during checkout (team password is optional)

How do I print my bib? 
Once registration closes, we will send you a link to print your Race Bib from Second Wind Timing and instructions on how to report your time.

How do I receive my Race T-Shirt & Race Bag?
You will receive an email with information regarding Race T-Shirt & Bag pick-up days and times during the week of October 17th.

How do I print my certificate?
Once you submit your time after completing the race, there will be an option to print your certificate.

How do I track my time?
You can use any time tracking app available in the app store. Here is a list of top 10 apps.

How do I create a fundraising team?
It's easy! Once you have registered, go to the Donate tab at the top of the Race Homepage and select Become a Fundraiser. You can create a fundraising team to support the work of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt or create a team in honor or memory of a Sister who holds a special place in your heart.

Do all team members have to run/walk together?
No, that is the great part about a virtual race! Each team member can run/walk at their own pace on their own time.

Do all team members have to do the same distance?
No, each team member can choose to do their own distance.
