Chasing Memphis: A Race for Hope is a community run created to honor the life and legacy of Memphis Peralta — a beloved son, brother, friend, and scholar whose curiosity, kindness, and determination touched the lives of everyone around him.
Memphis participated in the REACH program and later attended Regis High School, where he grew academically and personally among a community that recognized his potential and encouraged him to pursue excellence.
This race was created to carry that spirit forward. Proceeds from the event will support the Memphis Legacy Scholarship, awarded to academically gifted boys from low-income and under-resourced communities in New York City — young men whose intelligence, resilience, and ambition deserve the opportunity to thrive.
By running, walking, or supporting this event, you help continue Memphis’ legacy and create opportunities that can change lives for generations to come.
