Description
A 5K Run/Walk in Prospect Park Brooklyn on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 9:00 AM, with a start and finish at Park Circle Lawn.
The Race for Edie 5K Run/Walk is a celebration of Edie Perkins, an avid runner and cyclist, well-known for her speed and quick wit in the NY running and cycling communities. On April 20, 2017 while on a solo morning bike ride, Edie was hit by an SUV whose driver was momentarily blinded by the sun. The accident and resulting spinal cord injuries left Edie paralyzed from the chest down, but that hasn't stopped her. Edie is back home in LA living and working independently and also back to racing in a hand chair. This event will bring together local athletes, friends, colleagues and members of Edie's community to raise money and awareness for Edie Perkins, funding her ongoing recovery efforts to live her best and fullest life possible.
Online registration will end on Friday, May 18 at 12:00 PM. Race Day registration available.
