Run 716 Beer Mile

What better way to kick off the Run 716 race weekend than with a Beer Mile?!

The beer mile is a 1-mile drinking event combining running and speed drinking. The event will take place on a 1/4-mile course in the parking lots and streets surrounding Flying Bison Brewery. It begins with the consumption of a 12-US-fluid-ounce beer, followed by a full lap of the course. Repeat for a total of 4 laps.
 
The event is limited to a total of 75 participants.  There will be 2 heats of 25 each @ 9:30am and 10am. Select your time slot during registration.
 
Participants will be served Flying Bison's RUN 716 beer!

The beer mile is pretty simple. Drink 4 beers and run 4 laps in alternating fashion as quickly as you can. But just to be sure everyone is on the same playing field, here some rules to follow:

1. Each competitor drinks four cans or bottles of beer and runs four laps (start with chugging a beer, then run a lap, then beer, then lap, then beer, then lap, then beer, then lap - finish).
2. Beer must be consumed within the drinking area before the lap begins.
3. Competitors can walk/move in the drinking area while drinking, but all beer must be consumed in the drinking area before setting off to run a lap.
Beer cans must not be tampered with in any manner. (e.g. no shotgunning, puncturing the can, squeezing the can, etc.). The same applies for bottles - no straws or other aids allowed that speed up the pouring process. The only action allowed is opening the can with the tab at the top or twisting off the bottle cap of a bottle.
4. Competitors must follow the course as laid out - through parking lots and on sidewalks. Running in the road will not be allowed.

Event is open to those 21 years of age and older, subject to verification at the event.

We STRONGLY encourage you to bring a designated driver.
If your DD is running late that is okay with us, you can hang out with us at registration and volunteer!
You will be required to supply the name and phone number of someone that is responsible for you on Saturday, August 5th between the hours of 9am - 12pm.
