Update
Hello!
We hope you are ready to Battle because we are going to Battle on July 24th and 25th at Bristol Mountain, with some safety and COVID adjustments of course. Your well being and safety has always been paramount as we migrate through our various events and safety plans given COVID-19. By Monday, July 13th in the evening specific details will be outlined but allow us to first start with the following so you are prepared. Given COVID-19 there are many guidelines we are following to ensure everyone’s safety. One benefit to hosting this event at this location is that this mountain exudes social distance.
Here are some preliminary adjustments – the full note will come by Monday evening.
1. We will not be hosting the 50K nor 50K relay, but all other events will occur with different start time structures to accommodate social distancing
a. The 50K participants are more than welcome to choose between the 10 mile or 13.1 mile. Please email events@yellowjacketracing.com with which you’d like to choose.
b. The 50K relay participants will be switched to the 10 mile
2. The VK on Friday night will have a start time between 4PM and 6:30PM. We are spacing out everyone starting to keep social distance. We can not have groups starting together. So we urge you to get there as early as you can and we will send people off as we go along. Specific details forthcoming
3. The 10 mile and 13.1 Mile on Saturday will have a start time between 7:30AM and 8:30AM. We are spacing out everyone starting to keep social distance. We can not have groups starting together. So we urge you to get there as early as you can and we will send people off as we go along. Specific details forthcoming. There will also be a time cut that will be specific as well in forthcoming note.
4. The 5K and 10K on Saturday will have a start time between 8:30AM and 9:30AM. We are spacing out everyone starting to keep social distance. We can not have groups starting together. So we urge you to get there as early as you can and we will send people off as we go along. Specific details forthcoming
5. Packet Pickup details will be forthcoming but we will be hosting it at the Armory Wednesday, July 22nd and Thursday, July 23rd and all your items will be in ONE BAG with socially distant handout. We HIGHLY urge going to packet pickup as we are trying to reduce any congregation points on race days.
6. All athletes are required to carry their own hydration especially on Day 2. This is a requirement. Aid stations are very limited in order to reduce communal food/drink distribution.
7. Masks must be worn leading up to the start of the event and immediately following the finish of your event.
8. In order to remove any congregation points and food safety of communal food and to promote social distancing, upon completion you will receive a bag with your medal and prepackaged snacks.
9. You may get asked if people can still enter the event. The answer is yes, BUT, we are reviewing how many more we can have enter to reduce crowding by event. We will be opening up a completely separate registration and will inform the public via social media and email. We will inform you as well in case you have friends who want to play too. The key is they must act quickly as space will likely be limited. There will also be a cutoff date to register in order to reduce race day congregating.
We thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we work through the many many guidelines put forth by the various entities. This will be our first live event since March 8th. Will it be a little different, yes. But you will be racing amongst peers again. That right there is a score and a win!
More to come. Please keep watch for an email on Monday.
Thank you again!
