Red Devil Ruck

CVFD proudly hosts the " Red Devil Ruck ", an annual event established to honor and remember the lives lost during the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The inaugural Red Devil Ruck to Remember was held on September 10, 2023. Each year, participants take part in a ruck march to symbolize the endurance, sacrifice, and commitment demonstrated by the first responders who answered the call on 9/11. We will also continue our 5K run/walk, which begins at our West Side Station and finishes at our East Side Station.

What's New This Year
This year, we are making a few changes to make the event more accessible and encourage greater community participation. There is no registration fee to participate. By removing the entry fee, we hope more individuals and families will join us in honoring the heroes of September 11 and supporting this meaningful community tradition.

Because registration is now free, event T-shirts and challenge coins will no longer be included with registration.

Don't worry—you can still purchase both items through the RunSignUp store before the event or on-site the day of the event while supplies last.

Event Information

The Red Devil Ruck will begin at our West Side Station, located at 1046 County Route 12, Pennellville, NY 13132, and conclude at our East Side Station, located at 48 Prospect Street, Central Square, NY 13036.

Parking: All participants should park at the East Side Station before the event. Shuttle transportation will be provided to take participants from the East Side Station to the West Side Station prior to the start of the ruck and 5K. This allows all participants to finish at their vehicles at the conclusion of the event.
