SHORTCAKE 4K AT SUNSHINE HORSES

We invite you to come spend some time with us as we enjoy a mid-June morning full of good cheer, a spirited 4K run/walk followed by a post-race shortcake and fun festival put on by our good friends at Sunshine Horses The 4K will be officially timed with awards for Overall, Masters and Age Group winners. All participants will receive a free strawberry shortcake at the conclusion of their run for a job well done. This is a perfect event to introduce the younger members of your family into fun running activities.

The ShortcaKe 4K will benefit Sunshine Horses, Inc. The first 280 registrants are guaranteed to receive a custom race shirt. All finishers are awarded a custom finisher medal.

Stick around after the race event for a fun filled day at the Sunshine Horses Open House. There will be vendors, riding demonstrations, food, raffle baskets, horses, and more! Come out, meet Sunshine Horses and learn about our mission while enjoying a day with your family and friends!

Unique dog restriction -PLEASE READ

We love dogs at Willow Running and they are welcome at most of our events (on a 6' or less leash). This event is unique in that it is being hosted by Sunshine Horses and some horses can be sensitive to new animals on the farm. For the safety of the horses, we are going to ask that dogs are left home for this event and enjoy all of our other Willow Running events with your four-legged friends.

Our charity partner for Shortcake

All donations will go directly to Sunshine Horses Inc., a non-profit, independent adoption agency and rescue facility for horses located north of Syracuse, NY. Founded by Kate Starr in 2003, Sunshine has found loving homes for more than 200 horses, with an average adoption rate of 21 horses a year. Sunshine Horses Inc specialize in retraining and rehoming retired Standardbred racehorses. However, Sunshine works with all horse breeds and prepares them for their forever homes.
