Worldwide Event:

As we all know, New York has some of the best weather, hiking and views during the summer months. This is your chance to be a New Yorker for the summer!

Boy, have we brewed something up for you guys!
Since you likely won’t be able to go anywhere on vacation this summer, let’s come together as ONE New York. Let's work on your fitness and remain accountable with your friends.
Compete VIRTUALLY with a SUMMER LONG running challenge.
Travel the length of New York (Niagara Falls to Montauk, Long Island), on your schedule, without having to sleep in a hotel or the back of a motor home.
1000k is about 6 miles per day. May 15, 2020 – August 31, 2020
That means...500k is about 3 miles per day... duh!
Runners will receive a link where they can record their daily mileage to update the map and standings.
Starting May 15…race your friend from college, colleagues from work or just get out of the house to take a break from making social media videos😉
One of a kind shirts and gaiters (face coverings) will be sent to ALL participants. Medals will be awarded to those that cross the VIRTUAL FINISH LINE!
THIS IS A CHALLENGE! CHALLENGE YOURSELF AND OTHERS TO GET FROM THE FALLS TO THE OCEAN… VIRTUALLY!!

Run Together as One NY

What Counts for your distance??

Running & walking both count if you're doing it with the intent of exercising! Whether you're on the treadmill or backroad, it counts! This is based on the honor system but will be approved by an admin... so no cheating!

COVID-19 Relief

Direct Relief working in overdrive to get protective gear and critical care medications to as many health workers as possible, as quickly as possible, with emergency deliveries leaving daily for medical facilities across the U.S.
Direct Relief is coordinating with public health authorities, nonprofit organizations and businesses in the U.S. and globally to provide personal protective equipment and essential medical items to health workers responding to coronavirus (COVID-19).
Direct Relief is also staging personal protective equipment with regional response agencies across the world, including in the Caribbean and South America through the Pan American Health Organization.

As case totals grow, Direct Relief is focusing on the four key areas of activity:

Providing assistance in the form of personal protective equipment, or PPE, for health workers
Building an ICU medication model and mobilizing private resources to build a stockpile to assist with anticipated spike in ICU patients
Boosting support to safety-net facilities to address existing chronic gaps that are likely to grow
Collaborating with infectious disease epidemiologists, technology companies and public agencies to use aggregated mobility data to support the COVID-19 response.

SUPPORTING HEALTH WORKERS

Direct Relief maintains an emergency stockpile and, whenever possible, prepositions emergency caches of essentials that are likely to be needed immediately and can help avert or reduce the health effects of an emergency situation.
