One Summer...wasn't enough
One NY Cares is back for the fall with a focus on team, accountability and encouragement!

- Start running on September 8th!
- Get on our custom leaderboard. You'll be able to rank yourself against your friends and other runners from around NY and the United States.

- Finish the challenge stronger than you ever thought you could.

Q.Can I combine running/walking miles with bike/wheel miles?
A. No, the One NY Cares Challenge will allow you to log your activity by whether you submit miles that are on foot - running/walking- or on wheels -biking/wheelchair. You may log different activities in the same day, and you will be listed on each leaderboard based on the activity you declared. Running/walking miles are only shown on the Running/Walking Leaderboard for each distance. Bike/Wheeled miles are only displayed on the Biking/Wheeling Leaderboard for each distance. Running and biking miles are not allowed to be combined together to complete a distance. You may, however, compete at one distance while on foot, and at another distance while biking. You will be able to choose your options on your daily submission dashboard in your leaderboard account.
Simply put: we have two (2) submission categories only. 1. Run/walking and 2. cycling/wheel. They will have separate maps but you only need to register for one distance.
Example, if you register for the 400 mile category, you will be responsible for completing either 400 miles on foot run/walking or 400 miles on the bike. They will NOT add together. It's certainly possible that you may do 250 on the bike and 150 running and not be listed as a finisher.
Worldwide Event:
As we all know, New York has some of the best scenery during fall months. This is your chance to virtually see some fall foliage in New York State! Our original event had 12,762 participants that came from ALL 50 states and even 28 countries!
Beneficiaries:
One NY Cares has partnered with several of New York State's non-profits (501C-3) to help raise awareness and funds during this industry crippling pandemic. We ask you to look into each group and chose to represent the one that you're most passionate about.
