The ROCovery #OMAAT (One Mile At A Time) 24-Hour Run/Walk Challenge is a unique endurance event designed for all paces and goals. Inspired by the recovery principle of One Day At A Time (ODAAT), this challenge reminds us that progress is built one step, one mile, one day at a time.

Here’s how it works:

  • The course is a one-mile loop at Fellows Road Park.
  • The terrain is a combination of pavement, gravel, and grass with very little elevation.
  • Run or walk as many — or as few — laps as you choose within the 24-hour window.
  • Come and go as you please — you set your own challenge.
  • A fully stocked aid station will be available at the start/finish line throughout the event, and you are welcome to set up your own station with whatever else you may need.
  • This is a CUP FREE event so please bring your own refillable bottles, reusable collapsable cups, or alternative hydration system.

Whether you’re aiming to push your distance, enjoy the camaraderie of the recovery community, or simply move with purpose, this event is about showing up and giving your best — one mile at a time.

💙 Every step matters. Every mile counts. Every person belongs.💙

We will post your start and end times and number of miles on the board. Final results will be uploaded to RunSignup sometime after the race.

FAQ's

Q: Can I bring alcohol to the event?

  • No. This is an alcohol-free event. This event is hosted by ROCovery, an organization that supports individuals in recovery from substance use disorder, and we want to create a safe, inclusive environment for everyone. We appreciate your understanding and support of our mission.

Q: Should I bring my own water bottle, hydration vest, etc?

  • Yes, this will be a CUP FREE event. We will have Water and Tailwind available, and you will need your own refillable bottles.

Q: What will be at the aid station?

  • Beverages – Water, Tailwind, Coke, Ginger Ale, Coffee, Cocoa
  • Fruit – Clementines, Bananas, Apples
  • Snacks – Chips, Pretzels, Cookies, Regular and Peanut MMs, Swedish Fish, Gummy Bears, Sour Patch Kids, Pickles
  • Prepared Foods – Grilled Cheese, Eggs, Broth – Vegetable and Chicken, Rice, Cup of Noodles, Mashed Potatoes, Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches
  • Pizza – We will bring in sheet pizzas for Saturday night
  • Donuts and Bagels – We will bring in Dunkin for Sunday morning
  • What we WON’T have – Knowing these can be highly individualized, we will NOT have Sports Gels or Salt Tabs, so come prepared with what you prefer to use for races or have trained with for ultra distance competitions.

Q: Can I set up my own aid station?

  • Yes, there's plenty of room to set up a tent and your own aid station right along the course. The course circles a large parking lot and sports fields where you are free to set up.
  • Spots cannot be reserved ahead of time and are available on a first come first served basis, but that said, there is PLENTY of open space!

Q: Can I access my car?

  • Yes, your car will be right along the course within view.
  • Parking will only be allowed within designated parking areas.

Q: Can I bring my dog?

  • While this a public park, we ask that you not run with your dog.

Q: Is there electricity to charge my devices?

  • Yes, we have access to a large indoor shelter that has outlets. They may be in high demand though, so it is a good idea to bring your own portable chargers.

Q: Is there professional timing?

  • No, you will mark your own loops. Volunteers will be there to help ensure you don't miss marking a loop.
  • We will post your start and end times and number of miles on the board.
  • Results will be loaded to RunSignup shortly after the run.

Q: Can I start anytime?

  • Yes, you may start at the top of any hour.  We will mark your start time on the board.

Q: Are bathrooms available?

  • Yes, the Start/Finish line and Aid Station are at a large indoor shelter. The shelter has two bathrooms with several stalls in each bathroom.

Q: What time can I show up on Saturday?

  • Any time after 9am. Please be aware that we will be busy setting up for the race and may not be available to you.
  • The park is open to the public, so there may be other cars in the parking lot and some of the fields may be in use for sporting events that should end by 1pm.

Q: Is the course lit?

  • The Parking Lot and the Start/Finish area will have some lighting, but the course itself is not lit. You will want to bring a headlamp or lighted vest if you plan to run through the night.
  • The course is very straightforward, but it will be marked with reflective flags to make it easier to view in the dark.

Q: What is the terrain of the course?

  • The course is a one-mile loop.
  • The terrain is a combination of pavement, gravel, and grass with very little elevation.
  • The gravel can be small and may kick up into your sneakers, if that sounds bothersome to you, you may wish to have running gaiters.
